The chill in the air, the leaves crunching under your feet — fall is officially underway! And nothing puts us in the fall mood more than cozy treats like this maple popcorn. You’ll love the warm flavors of maple syrup and fall spices paired with the richness of our Oh Sooo Buttery Popcorn.
Now grab your Popsmith Popper and let’s get popping:
Maple Popcorn Ingredients
- 1 packet Oh Sooo Buttery Popcorn
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon ground ginger
Steps for Making Maple Syrup Popcorn
Step 1: Heat
Set your stove to medium heat and let your Popper preheat for 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 2: Add Oil
Cut open the coconut oil portion of the Oh Sooo Buttery Popcorn packet and squeeze the oil into the Popper.
Step 3: Add Kernels
Cut open the kernels portion of the Oh Sooo Buttery Popcorn packet and drop 2-3 kernels into the pot. Pour the rest when the first one pops.
Step 4: Add Oh Sooo Buttery Popcorn Seasoning
Now cut the buttery salt portion of the popcorn packet, pour it into the Popper, and cover the pot with the lid.
GOOD TO KNOW: Don’t want your maple popcorn too salty? You can use about a quarter of the salt first, then add more later if needed.
Step 5: Turn
Turn the Popper’s crank clockwise as the kernels pop. No need to do this the whole time — a few cranks will do the trick.
Step 6: Remove
Take the Popper off the heat when popping slows to 2 or 3 seconds between pops and remove the lid.
Step 7: Make Maple Popcorn Seasoning
Mix maple syrup and unsalted butter together in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat and keep stirring until the mixture is smooth. Then take the saucepan off the heat and stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
Step 8: Combine
Drizzle the maple popcorn seasoning over the popcorn, put the Popper’s lid back on, and then give it a good toss or a few more cranks for a nice, even coating.
Step 9: Serve
Pour your maple syrup popcorn into a bowl, give the syrup a few minutes to set, and enjoy!
More Maple Popcorn Tips
- For extra crunch, bake the maple-coated popcorn at 300°F for 8-10 minutes, stirring once halfway through. Let it cool completely before serving.
- This popcorn pairs well with toasted pecans and other nuts. Bacon makes another great topping!
- Have some leftover popcorn? Store it in an airtight container at room temperature and eat it within 2 days.
