Some combinations just make sense: peanut butter and jelly, cookies and milk, bacon and eggs. Others are more unusual but still amazing — like banana pudding popcorn.
With creamy banana goodness, crushed vanilla wafers, and a decadent white chocolate drizzle, this banana pudding popcorn recipe brings all the comfort of the classic dessert with a fun twist.
Now go get your Popper and let’s get poppin’:
Banana Pudding Popcorn Ingredients
- ½ cup popcorn kernels
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 box instant banana pudding mix (3.5 oz)
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup crushed vanilla wafers
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Optional: freeze-dried bananas, crushed
Banana Pudding Popcorn Directions
Step 1: Heat
Set your stove to medium heat and let your Popper preheat for 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 2: Pour Oil and Kernels
Pour oil into the pot and add 3 kernels. Add the rest of the kernels once the first one pops then cover the Popper.
Step 3: Turn
Crank the Popper clockwise as the kernels pop to keep them from burning. No need to do this the whole time, just every couple of seconds.
GOOD TO KNOW: The Popsmith’s crank stays cool to the touch. If you’re concerned about putting your hand over the stove, point the steam vent away from you.
Step 4: Remove
When popping slows, take the Popper off the heat and remove the lid.
Step 5: Make Banana Popcorn Sauce
Melt white chocolate and butter in a microwave in 30-second intervals, then stir in vanilla extract, salt, and 2 tablespoons of the banana pudding mix.
Step 6: Combine
Drizzle the sauce over the popcorn, then cover the Popper and toss or crank it to distribute the flavoring evenly. After, sprinkle crushed vanilla wafers, the remaining banana pudding mix, and if you’re adding them, freeze-dried bananas.
Step 7: Serve
Pour your banana pudding popcorn into a huge bowl and enjoy!

- Want to change things up? Swap vanilla wafers for golden Oreos or butterscotch chips.
- For double the decadence, drizzle your popcorn with more melted white chocolate. You can also top it with toffee bits for extra crunch and flavor.
- If you have any leftover popcorn (which we doubt, but just in case), store it in an airtight container and consume within 2 days.
