9 Ideas for Romantic Date Night Snacks

Treat your significant other to a memorable date night with these easy and delicious snack recipes. From chocolate-drizzled popcorn to savory parmesan garlic knots, explore nine snacks perfect for any date night.

Everyone deserves a great, relaxing date night. It is the perfect way to put everything aside and focus on your significant other. Spending time together is important and planning a date night will enable you to reconnect.

Date nights do not have to be complicated. Snuggling up on the couch for a Netflix movie night or just going for a walk around your neighborhood may just be the best date night ever. No need for fancy restaurants or expensive outings. However, no matter what type of date night you plan, you should definitely have snacks. You don’t want to be thinking about your hunger instead of enjoying the moments with your significant other.

We have put together a list of 9 easy recipes for your next date night. Of course, many of them revolve around our favorite snack — popcorn.

1. Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn

Popcorn is usually a salty snack but you can give it a sweet twist with a quick popcorn drizzle, seasoning, or topping. Skip the salt and butter and make a dessert popcorn, perfect for any date night. All you need to do is pop some fresh, crispy popcorn. Use the Popsmith Popper to get the perfect popcorn every time.

Melt a small bowl of chocolate until it is smooth and drippy. You can use white, milk, or dark chocolate to make chocolate popcorn. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the crispy popcorn and you are done. Just like that, you have the perfect, romantic movie night snack.

2. Charcuterie Board

Charcuterie boards are really popular and a perfect snack for a date night. You can customize your charcuterie board to have all of your favorite foods (and the snacks your significant other loves, too.). Charcuterie boards are also great because you can have a mix of sweet and salty snacks, giving you lots of snack options.

Consider adding salami, pepperoni, cheese, and chopped veggies to your board. Add some hummus or simple ranch dressing as a dip. Crackers or popcorn make great, crunchy additions. Add sweet popcorn to your board so you have dessert for your date night, too.

3. Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

You can’t go wrong with chocolate-dipped strawberries. They're elegant, romantic, and a great way to say “I love you” with food. Plus, chocolate-covered strawberries are very easy to make.

Melt some chocolate in a small bowl or mug. We like to use a mug since it is nice and deep, giving you lots of space to dip the berries.

Hold the green stem of the strawberry and dip it into the chocolate. Place the dipped berry on a plate and add some sprinkles or chopped nuts. Once you are done dipping them all, put the plate in the fridge to make the chocolate harden. You can easily have chocolate-dipped strawberries for any date night. They aren’t just for Valentine’s Day.

4. Parmesan Garlic Knots

If you are looking for filling, savory date night appetizers, you should definitely try making parmesan garlic knots. You can make your own dough or buy pre-made biscuit dough at the grocery store. Look for refrigerated rolls near the dairy section of your store.

Cut the biscuit dough into strips, brush each one with melted butter, and sprinkle them with grated parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Then, tie the strips into knots and bake until they are golden brown. This is a buttery, irresistible snack that you and your spouse will adore.

5. S’mores Mix

S’mores trail mix is perfect for snacking on during a movie or enjoying while you walk around the block. It is easy to eat on the go. S’mores mix will bring out your inner child and make your date night lighthearted and fun.

Buy your favorite s’mores-style snacks and simply mix them all together. Mini marshmallows, Teddy Grahams, chocolate chips, pretzels, and even Oreos can all go into the trail mix. It is the perfect, sweet treat for a date night (or any night, really).

6. Loaded Nachos

If you don’t want a sweet treat for your date night, consider making something savory like a big, salty plate of loaded nachos. Mexican food is always a good idea. It is also fun to munch on a plate of crunchy nachos with the person you love. Sharing is caring.

You can add almost any toppings to your nachos. Think about what you would put inside a taco and then pile it onto your nacho chips. Ground beef, shredded cheese, jalapenos, queso and guacamole all make perfect toppings. Pop the plate in the microwave to heat up the chips and then enjoy.

7. Pretzel Bites

You can find pretzel bites everywhere. They are at sporting events, and movie theaters and you can even pick up a box in the grocery store to enjoy at home. They are a great side dish or snack for your next date night.

Pair the pretzel bites with various dipping sauces to personalize the snack even more. Cheese sauce, blue cheese dressing, warm peanut butter or mustard sauce would all be great. Serve your pretzel bites with a whole range of dipping sauces to see which you and your date like the best.

8. Baked Sweet Potato Chips

Sweet potato chips are a healthy date night snack that is unique but quite tasty. All you need to do to make this homemade date night snack is thinly slice some sweet potatoes, toss them in a little oil and salt and spread them on a tray to bake. Once the chips are golden brown and crispy, they are ready to enjoy.

This tasty DIY snack is nutritious and worth the time it takes to make them. Cut the potatoes thinner for crunchier chips or make wedges for a thick, perfect for dipping potato. Homemade chips may quickly become your new favorite.

9. Mini Dessert Platter

A platter of mini desserts will surely make your date smile. And, you can get as creative as you want, adding almost anything to the platter you’d like. When the desserts are nice and small, everyone will get to have a few without feeling any guilt.

Brownies, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, and lemon bars are all fantastic for dessert platters. Add some lemon bars or chocolate-drizzled popcorn to the tray. You can even match your desserts to any themed romantic night.
