Sriracha's distinctive blend of tanginess and heat can elevate any dish, and today, we're bringing that same fiery goodness to popcorn.
Ready to turn up the heat? Then grab your Popper and let’s make sriracha popcorn:
Sriracha Popcorn Ingredients
- ½ cup kernels
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons sriracha (or more, depending on how much heat you want!)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt, to taste
How to Make Sriracha Popcorn
Step 1: Heat
Set your stove to medium heat. Let the Popper preheat for 1-2 minutes.
Step 2: Pour Oil
Coat the pot with oil and allow it to sizzle.
Step 3: Add Kernels
Drop 2-3 kernels into the Popper. When the first one pops, pour in the rest.
Step 4: Pop
Close the Popper and start turning the crank as the kernels pop.
PRO TIP: If the spinner gets stuck while you crank, some kernels might have gotten stuck behind it. To release them, all you have to do is gently lift the spinner with your finger. Don’t worry, it doesn’t get as hot as the rest of the pot.
Step 5: Remove
Once popping slows, take the pot off the heat and remove the lid to allow steam to escape.
Step 6: Make Sriracha Mixture
Melt unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, then add in the sriracha, honey, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix well.
Step 7: Combine
Drizzle the sriracha mixture over the popcorn, then toss the Popper or give it a few cranks. Season with salt to taste.
Step 8: Serve and Enjoy Your Sriracha Popcorn
Pour your spicy popcorn into a large bowl and serve it with ice-cold drinks.
Add Some Spice to Your Life
