Step 3: Toss in Kernels

Drop 3 kernels into the pot. Add in the rest when the first one pops, then cover the Popper.

Step 4: Turn

While popping, turn the Popper’s crank clockwise to keep the kernels from staying in one place and burning.

Step 5: Remove

Take the Popper off the heat when popping slows to 1-2 seconds between pops and transfer the popcorn to a huge bowl.

Step 6: Prepare Salt and Vinegar Popcorn Seasoning

Mix white vinegar, sea salt, and black pepper together in a small bowl.

Step 7: Season

Drizzle the salt and vinegar mixture over the popcorn and toss to coat.

Step 8: Serve

More Salt and Vinegar Popcorn Tips

  • Use white vinegar for the classic bite. It gives you that sharp, lip-puckering tang closest to the chip. Apple cider vinegar is milder with a slightly sweet edge. Balsamic adds richness and complexity if you want to experiment.

  • Try a spray bottle. Mixing the vinegar and salt in a small spray bottle makes it much easier to coat the popcorn evenly without over-saturating any one spot.

  • Experiment with salt. Flaky sea salt, kosher salt, and Himalayan pink salt all bring something slightly different. Worth trying each one to find your favorite.

  • If you do have leftover popcorn, store it in an airtight container away from sunlight and eat within a day or two.
