We’re big peanut butter fans here at Popsmith — whether it’s slathered on sandwiches, baked into cookies, or eaten straight from the jar. But we definitely like it best when it’s paired with popcorn.
This peanut butter popcorn recipe only takes minutes to make with your Popper, and it’s so irresistibly good. You won’t regret trying it!
Peanut Butter Popcorn Ingredients
- ½ cup kernels
- 2 tablespoons oil
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup honey
- Salt, to taste
- Powdered sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
How to Make Peanut Butter Popcorn
Step 1: Heat
Set your stovetop to medium heat. Allow Popper to preheat for 1-2 minutes.
Step 2: Add Oil
Pour oil into the pot.
Step 3: Add Kernels
When the oil begins to sizzle, add 2-3 kernels into the Popper. Toss in the remaining kernels after the first one pops.
Step 4: Pop
Cover the Popper with its lid and gently turn the crank clockwise while the kernels pop. Just turn every couple of seconds — the device will do most of the work for you.
Step 5: Remove
When popping slows, remove the Popper from the stovetop and take off the lid to let steam escape. Add salt to taste.
Step 6: Create the Sauce
Now it’s time to make the peanut butter mixture! Melt butter over low heat, then add the peanut butter and honey. Keep stirring until smooth and well combined.
Step 7: Combine
Pour the peanut butter syrup over your freshly popped popcorn and stir to coat it evenly. Top the peanut butter popcorn with powdered sugar if you want it a little sweeter.
IMPORTANT: Remove any unpopped kernels before adding the syrup.
Step 8: Serve
Pour the popcorn into a bowl, give it time to cool, and then enjoy!

- Why stop here when you can make peanut butter popcorn balls? Just wait till the popcorn is cool enough to touch, grease your hands with butter or oil, shape the popcorn into balls, and then wrap them in cellophane to serve as party favors.
- This popcorn should keep for a few days if you store it in an airtight container at room temperature. We’re sure you and your family will wolf it down before then, though!
