How to Make Droolworthy Garlic Parmesan Popcorn

Want a quick snack to prepare for your next movie night? This garlic popcorn recipe may be simple, but it sure packs on the flavor!

Everything is better with garlic.

Okay, maybe not ice cream, but you know what we mean!

It smells amazing, adds a ton of depth and flavor, and paired with parmesan, turns things like plain popcorn into a snack everyone will be asking seconds (or thirds) for.

Now grab your Popper and let’s make garlic parmesan popcorn:

Garlic Parmesan Popcorn Ingredients

  • ½ cup kernels

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced

  • ⅓ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Garlic Parmesan Popcorn Directions

Step 1: Preheat

turning on stove

Set your stove to medium heat and let your Popsmith preheat for 1 to 2 minutes.

Step 2: Add Oil and Kernels

Pour oil into the pot and drop 3 kernels. When the first kernel pops, add the remainder and cover the Popper.

Step 3: Turn

cranking the popsmith's spinner

Turn the Popsmith’s crank clockwise while the kernels pop. This prevents burning.

Step 4: Remove

When popping slows to 1-2 seconds between pops, take the Popper off the heat and remove the lid.

Step 5: Season

Melt butter in a small saucepan, add minced garlic, and cook over medium heat until fragrant. Drizzle over your popcorn and sprinkle parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Then cover the Popsmith and give it a good toss to coat all the kernels in the garlic parmesan popcorn seasoning.

Step 6: Serve

Pour your garlic parmesan popcorn into a huge bowl, garnish with basil and oregano leaves, and enjoy!

More Garlic Parmesan Popcorn Tips

  • Your popcorn, your rules. Sprinkle more parmesan for a cheesier flavor, use ghee or clarified butter instead of regular butter, or double the Italian seasoning — you call the shots.

  • Don’t have Italian seasoning on you? Just use equal parts basil and oregano.

  • Because of the melted butter, this popcorn is best eaten immediately. If you’re planning to serve it on game night and don’t want it too soggy, season the popcorn only when it’s time to bring the snacks out.

The Clove of the Party

Now that you can make a mean garlic parmesan popcorn, brace yourself for movie night. You’re going to be whipping this up for your friends and family a lot. It’s so good that it’ll have everyone forgetting about the movie altogether.
