Behind the Scenes: Making Popsmith's First Commercial with Tal Moore

Hey! I'm Tal Moore, Popsmith CEO and co-founder. A few months back, we dropped our first-ever commercial. Today I'm sharing a behind-the-scenes interview about it, from why we made it to how we made it to what it took to get here.

The very first Popsmith commercial has nearly a million views now. 

I started writing the script for it over a year ago during some of the darkest days of building Popsmith. The script became my lifeline, a way to stay sane when everything felt impossible.

I wanted every detail in that commercial to be authentic. Even the outtakes where I'm flubbing my lines stayed in because it felt more honest.

Why This Matters So Much to Me

I've been obsessed with popcorn for over 20 years. I started selling machines as a teenager. With my co-founder Dave, we built Popsmith to be experiential and timeless. Something that brings families together. Popcorn to me always meant warmth, love, and togetherness, and that's what I wanted to capture in the commercial. 

What I Hope You Take Away

My Popsmith commercial isn't a sales pitch; it's me telling you that I genuinely love our brand and the Popper we built. Dave and I poured everything into building something we believe in. I want more people to experience what we created, not because it's gone viral a couple of times, but because you deserve better popcorn.
