We finally have our pumpkin pops! We roasted local pie pumpkins from Basket of Life Farm, blended in warm pie spices, then folded in a delicious and fluffy mascarpone mousse. So good!
Thanks to everyone who came out to support Popsmith and the other farmers and vendors at Countryside Farmers’ Market the past two weeks. (Let us know what you thought of our latest flavor if you tried one!) We were relieved to have an alternate location, and hope that we will be back outdoors this week. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to be sure where to find us.
We continue to sell boxes of pops- just give us a call to see what’s in stock, and we can put it together for you. We’re planning a more formal CSA-style subscription for 2014, so stay tuned for details.
We have one final market at the Cleveland Clinic this Wednesday from 10:30-1:30, and two more Saturday markets at Howe Meadow from 9-12 before the season draws to a close, but we are working on some special holiday flavors for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are planning to make appearances at the markets right before Thanksgiving and Christmas at Old Trail School to add something unique for your holiday gatherings!

As the hot days of summer give way to the crisp, cool days of fall, we are looking forward to debuting our fall flavors. This week in the kitchen we’re beginning to work with pears- one of my fall favorites. Soon to follow will be apples, concord grapes (yum!!!) and, of course, pumpkins!
We had a great time at some recent events, including The Cleveland Flea on Saturday, and the Fairlawn Food Truck Round Up a few weeks ago. If you missed us at either of those events, we’re really happy to be included in the Tremont Arts & Cultural Fest September 21 & 22nd, so come out and say hi! We’d love to meet you!
We are thrilled to be featured in the August edition of Cleveland Magazine! If you haven’t seen it yet, here is a link to the article. We’re flattered to have the likes of Laura Taxel singing our praises.
We also had a small write-up in this week’s food section of the Akron Beacon Journal. Thanks to Lisa Abraham! We are so grateful!
This Saturday, August 10th you can once again find us at the Cleveland Flea (we’ll still be at Howe Meadow, too!) The hours have changed to 9-4 this month, but the location is the same. We’ll post tomorrow on facebook what our flavors will be!
Also, we will be participating in the Fairlawn Food Truck Round Up scheduled for September 1st in the lovely Bicentennial Park. This day-long food fest boasts 15+ food trucks, family friendly activities and music! We’ll post more details closer to the date.
We hope to see you at these fun events, and of course, at our regular markets. Thanks for the love, everyone!
We have some fantastic flavors right now. Come visit us at one of the five weekly markets where we set up shop and take one for a spin!
Sour Cherry Rose Water
Raspberries and Cream

Plums, peaches and sweet corn are at the markets now, so expect to see them appear in our pops in the next week or two. What flavors would you like to see us pop up?
We’re so excited to have been invited to participate in the Cleveland Flea! This great event with hand-made, local, artisan products is held in the St. Clair neighborhood on E. 55th. Check the link for the nitty-gritty.
Come say hi and try one of our many refreshing flavors. I’ll post what we’ll be bringing later in the week!
We love raspberries, and we can finally offer some raspberry pops! We spent our day ‘off’ on Sunday harvesting loads of fresh raspberries at Rittman Orchards to transform into two new flavors this week: Raspberry and Raspberry Basil.

Two of our regular markets are taking a break to celebrate our Independence, so we will not be at the Countryside Farmers’ Market at Highland Square or the Downtown Cleveland Farmers’ Market at Public Square this week. We will still be at Tremont, Cleveland Clinic, and Howe Meadow. We’ll catch you at the other two next week.
Flavors for this week:
Rhubarb Orange Blossom
Strawberries are winding down for the year, so we’ll only have our strawberry flavors for another week or two. Catch them while you can!

We see cucumber pops and raspberry pops on the horizon!
Wow- we are so excited to share the news: we are officially in business! We received our licenses from the Ohio Department of Agriculture this morning, delayed by several weeks due to the all-important pop freezer arriving from Brazil much later than anticipated. It’s all good now! And, we have our official logo! Let us know what you think.
We are looking forward to getting into the kitchen tomorrow to make our first round of pops, centered around this year’s delicious strawberry crop.
We will be making our official debut on Saturday, June 15th at the Countryside Farmers’ Market at Howe Meadow, from 9-12. Come out and say hi, and get a bunch of other delicious local products while you are there! We will be at all of our other venues beginning next week.
After much nervous waiting-around, we finally have a ship-date for our essential piece of equipment! Our pop freezer leaves Sao Paolo on Tuesday, and should arrive in Cleveland on Friday the 31st, assuming all goes well in customs. Our kitchen inspection will occur shortly thereafter, and we’ll finally be able to shift into production mode.
Also arriving next week is our super cute push cart. We’ll post pictures when it arrives.
We’re really looking forward to getting things rolling and participating in our local markets. We hope to see you there with a nice array of fresh pop flavors in the next few weeks!
Meanwhile, follow us on Facebook as we track the progress of our pop freezer all next week.
